Privacy Policy
How Nashville EDM handles account, app, event, chat, support, and usage data.
Who we are
Nashville EDM operates the Nashville EDM website and mobile apps for discovering electronic music events, artists, venues, media profiles, chat rooms, and community features in Nashville, Tennessee.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use Nashville EDM, including the iOS app submitted through the Apple App Store.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Nashville EDM, we may collect:
- Account information, such as your name, username, email address, profile image, and login identifiers.
- Profile and community activity, such as saved events, followed artists or venues, RSVPs, preferences, and app settings.
- Event submission information, such as promoter contact details, event descriptions, venue details, ticket links, images, and related content you provide.
- Chat and community content, such as messages you post in chat rooms, any images or links you share, reports you file about another member, the accounts you block, and moderation records about your account.
- Support communications, such as messages you send to us, deletion requests, and information needed to resolve your request.
- Device and usage data, such as app version, pages or screens viewed, approximate location derived from your device or request, crash logs, diagnostics, IP address, browser type, and operating system.
- Cookies and similar technologies on the website that help with session management, analytics, security, and preferences.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Operate the event calendar, artist profiles, venue pages, account features, saved events, follows, RSVPs, and support tools.
- Review, publish, moderate, and update submitted events and community content.
- Operate chat rooms, including delivering messages, showing who posted them, and keeping rooms working.
- Screen chat messages automatically before they post, review reports and flagged content, and enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, including muting, banning, suspending, or removing accounts.
- Respond to support, privacy, safety, account access, and account deletion requests.
- Improve app performance, measure feature usage, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
- Send service-related communications, such as account, safety, support, policy, or important product updates.
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect Nashville EDM, users, venues, artists, promoters, and the public.
Location data
Nashville EDM focuses on events in Nashville. Some features may use approximate location or map interactions to show nearby venues, events, or route context. We do not require precise GPS location for core browsing. If a mobile feature asks for location permission, you can decline or change that permission in your device settings.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these limited situations:
- With service providers that help us host, operate, analyze, secure, and support Nashville EDM.
- With ticketing, venue, promoter, social, map, analytics, crash reporting, push notification, chat infrastructure, email, or authentication providers when needed to provide a feature you use.
- With the public when you submit public event, artist, venue, media, or profile content for publication.
- With other members when you post in a chat room, appear on a profile or attendee list, or send a friend request, according to your privacy settings.
- When required by law, subpoena, court order, government request, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this policy or a successor policy.
Chat rooms and messages
Nashville EDM chat rooms are operated for us by Stream (Stream.io, Inc.), a chat infrastructure provider that stores and delivers messages on our behalf as our service provider.
- What we send to Stream: an internal account identifier, your display name, your profile photo, your role in chat, and the messages and attachments you post. We do not send your email address, your password, your date of birth, or your payment information.
- Chat rooms are public to signed-in members. Your display name, profile photo, and messages are visible to everyone in the room. Nashville EDM does not offer private direct messages in chat.
- Messages are screened before they post. Message text is checked automatically against blocked-term lists and automated content classification for drug solicitation, threats, scams, sexual harassment, hate, and doxxing. Matching messages are rejected back to the sender and never shown to others. This screening is automated; it does not produce a legal or similarly significant decision on its own, and enforcement against an account is reviewed by a person.
- Reports and moderation records. When you report a message we store a copy of that message, who posted it, and when — so that a deleted message can still be reviewed — along with the action our staff took. We keep moderation records for safety, appeals, repeat-offender detection, and legal purposes.
- Blocks. The list of accounts you block is stored on our servers and synced to chat so that blocked members' messages are hidden from you. We do not tell someone that you blocked them.
- Retention. Chat messages are retained while the room exists. Event chat rooms are frozen after the show and deleted a short time later. Reported content, moderation records, and safety records are kept longer, and may be kept after you delete your account.
Stream processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy as our processor. Deleting your Nashville EDM account removes your chat identity, and we ask Stream to delete the data it holds for you.
Push notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a device push token so we can send you alerts about events, friend requests, and community activity. Delivery runs through Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, and we retire tokens that stop working.
Third-party services
Nashville EDM may link to or integrate third-party services, including ticketing sites, venues, promoters, social platforms, maps, analytics, chat infrastructure, push notification delivery, authentication, app stores, and payment or checkout providers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review those policies before using third-party services.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including account operation, support, security, legal compliance, dispute handling, and backup integrity. Public event listings, venue pages, artist profiles, editorial content, and aggregated analytics may remain after account deletion when they are not tied to an identifiable user account. Reported chat content, moderation records, and safety and enforcement records are kept for as long as needed for those purposes, including after an account is deleted.
