Community Guidelines
The rules for Nashville EDM chat rooms, profiles, and community features — what is not allowed, how moderation works, and how to report someone.
Zero tolerance, stated plainly
Nashville EDM has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. That includes harassment, hate, threats, sexual harassment, impersonation, doxxing, scams, and drug sales or solicitation. Accounts that do these things lose access, and we do not require a pattern before we act.
These guidelines apply everywhere people can see each other in Nashville EDM: the global chat room, event chat rooms, profiles, photos, bios, handles, event submissions, and any message or media you send through the app. They are part of our Terms of Service — breaking them is breaking the Terms.
The chat rooms
Chat rooms are for people going to shows in Nashville. There is a global room and, for shows with enough people going, a room for that event. Rooms are public to signed-in members: anything you post can be read by everyone in the room, quoted, screenshotted, and reported.
- You must be signed in with a real account. There are no anonymous or guest posts.
- There are no private direct messages in chat. Every room is a public space.
- Rooms are rate limited. Flooding, copy-paste spam, and repeat posting will be blocked automatically.
- Event rooms close after the show and are removed a short time later.
- Keep it about the music, the shows, and getting there. Off-topic is fine; abusive is not.
What is not allowed
Do not post, send, or share:
- Harassment, bullying, or threats. Targeting someone, pile-ons, threats of violence, or encouraging others to attack a person.
- Hate speech. Attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- Sexual harassment or sexual content. Unwanted sexual advances, sexual content involving anyone who is or appears to be a minor, and nudity or pornography.
- Doxxing. Anyone's address, phone number, workplace, or other private information — including your own safety, so think before you post it.
- Scams, spam, and unauthorized promotion. Ticket scams, payment or crypto flips, phishing links, bots, mass unsolicited promotion, or advertising unrelated to Nashville EDM.
- Drug sales or solicitation. Offering, asking for, advertising, or arranging the sale of controlled substances, including coded, slang, or emoji phrasing.
- Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, an artist, a venue, a promoter, or Nashville EDM staff.
- Illegal activity or anything that puts someone at risk, including weapons, self-harm encouragement, counterfeit tickets, and content that violates someone else's rights.
Being explicit about the show, the set, or the night is not the problem this policy exists for. Swearing is not a violation. Targeting a person is.
Age
You must be at least 17 years old to hold a Nashville EDM account, and old enough under the laws where you live to agree to our Terms. Nashville EDM covers 18+ and 21+ nightlife, and chat rooms are open, public spaces with adult conversation in them. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 17, we remove it.
How moderation works
Nashville EDM moderates chat in three layers.
- Before a message posts. Every message is screened automatically against blocked-term lists and automated content classification for drug solicitation, threats, scams, sexual harassment, hate, and doxxing. Messages that match are rejected back to the sender and never shown to anyone else. Other terms are allowed through but flagged for a person to read.
- After it posts. Anything reported by a member, and anything the automated system flags, lands in a single moderation queue that Nashville EDM staff review. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content or abusive behavior within 24 hours.
- Moderators in the room. Nashville EDM staff and appointed moderators can remove messages, mute, and ban directly from inside the app.
Automated filtering is not perfect in either direction. It will occasionally block something harmless and occasionally miss something it should have caught — which is why reporting matters.
Reporting and blocking
Every member has both tools, and using them is the right move.
- Report a message by pressing and holding it in chat, then choosing Report. Report a person from their profile. Reports go to Nashville EDM staff with a copy of what was said, so a message that gets deleted afterward can still be reviewed.
- Block a person from their profile. A block hides their messages from you everywhere, stops them from finding you, sending you a friend request, or seeing where you are going.
- In a public room, blocking hides someone from you — it does not remove their messages for everyone else. If they are breaking these rules, report them as well so we can act for the whole room.
- You can also email info@nashvilleedm.com at any time, and you should if someone is in danger.
- If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 first. We are not an emergency service.
What we do about violations
Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may take any of these actions, in any order, without warning:
- Delete the message or remove the content.
- Mute or rate limit the account in a room.
- Remove the account's ability to post while its messages stay visible only to itself.
- Ban the account from a room or from chat entirely.
- Suspend or delete the Nashville EDM account, which ends access to the app.
- Report the account to law enforcement where there is a threat to someone's safety or a crime.
Creating a new account to get around an enforcement action is itself a violation, and we will remove the new account too.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, email info@nashvilleedm.comfrom the address on your account and tell us what happened. A person will read it. We do not discuss enforcement actions taken against other people's accounts.
Your content stays yours
You keep the rights you already have in what you post. By posting in Nashville EDM you allow us to host, display, and distribute it inside the app, and to keep a copy of reported or flagged content for moderation, safety, and legal purposes even after it is deleted. See Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for the full detail.
